Hello and welcome! I'm Susan Ramsay - founder of Karna Ramsay. I started designing for Karna during lockdown in 2020 and was able to launch the brand later that year. 

Since I was a young girl, I had an imaginary friend called Karna. I had a wild imagination and Karna was my closest friend. Upon growing up, I then married the love of my life at the age of 23 and became Mrs Ramsay. The brand name 'Karna Ramsay' was born - putting these two very special names together reflected for me my life from being that creative little girl to becoming a woman.

I have always loved designing and have been completely surrounded and obsessed by fashion my whole life. My Grandma and Mum taught me how to sew at a very young age. Throughout highschool I used to find vintage clothing, restore it and sell it on Ebay. I've always had a deep passion for curating garments and creating online stores.

I draw my inspiration from everyday things. Living in Melbourne, Australia - which is such a vibrant city - I find little things like going into the city and seeing people wearing beautiful colours and fabrics gives me instant inspiration. I then begin to imagine what pieces I would make out of those colours or fabrics. I love my music as well - this is definitely a huge source of inspiration for me! I would listen to songs and imagine if I was at a bar having a drink and listening to this song - what would I be wearing?

That's why I make pieces for the timeless woman - a classy, unique, beautiful woman who takes pride in how she dresses, who loves to spend her weekends on the town and who is looking for a little luxury in their wardrobe.
